Hill Country Trail Runners

Training

Revised, 8/2008

I have integrated my running training into my commute! Thanks to being fired from my downtown job. At first I would walk to work each morning, 5 miles. In the evening I walk home for 10 miles total on the day. Kids and family still get in the way so I have been getting in about 35 miles per week. Three days a week my wife and I are doing a weight lifting program.

Begining in late August I started running on the trip home. First 2 miles, then expanding to the whole trip. I am trying hard to make this 5 days or at least 4.5 days a week.

Starting after the 8HRFTD in September I plan to add long runs on the Northshore trail getting ready for the Rockledge Rumble in November. After the Rumble I will decide on my distance for the Rocky Racoon in Huntsville. I understand that 50 or 100 is a big choice but I really believe that I can make the 100 mile / 30 hour time limit. I will have to prove it to myself in thr rumble.

My "Head" needs the most work!
